Connecting to the World
Our Window on the World project provides vital infrastructure to support learning beyond digital skills, giving local children access to a world beyond their village. In this video PFP's Chair of Trustees, James Stewart, meets the Head of ICT at Remba Primary School, who has overseen the implementation of the project there:
In the first phase of thus project in Remba, a dedicated classroom was refurbished within the primary school to serve as an ICT hub and 30 laptops were donated and installed. The hub is equipped with a printer, projector and the internet.

Feedback from pupils and teachers at Remba school highlights the impact of this programme on learners:
“Before we got the computers, we could not access the rest of the world since Remba is (an) isolated island and we (didn’t) enjoy what the rest of the world is enjoying. Through these laptops we can now connect with many people through (the) internet. We have been taught (IT) packages and it has also become part of our school curriculum. I also see teachers enjoying the laptops and they can easily get notes, lesson plans and schemes of work. I appreciate PFP for giving us this opportunity and… ask PFP to extend this program to the rest of the community so that they enjoy the program.” (Remba pupil)
“Part of the challenge is that we are a very remote are - Remba Island is very far from the mainland. The computers PFP gave us really have done a lot, we are very thankful for them.” (ICT teacher)
