Meet our fundraiser

George

As an ambassador, volunteer, fundraiser and all-around superstar, George has helped PFP transform lives across the world.

George championed and spearheaded our project with the Masaii community in Osupukiai Village. His fundraising events have included art and garage sales, pub quizzes and his ‘Walk for Water’ campaign which saw him taking 48,320 laps of his garden – the equivalent of 4,228 miles that the crow would’ve flown to Osupukiai. He raised over £30,000, which has enabled the community access to clean, reliable water – and so much more!

If you’re inspired like George, please get in touch to tell us how you’d like to get involved - we’d love to hear from you!

The support of a company, whether large or small, can be truly transformative to PFP projects.

We are thrilled that Office Space in Town (OSiT) Waterloo has made PFP its charity of the year in 2025. This is a wonderful collaboration that is currently exploring challenge events to raise much-needed funds to sustain our projects, and also exchanging skills through volunteering opportunities such as a ‘speed mentoring’ programme. You can read more about OSiT Waterloo here.

Joseph Flach’s support enabled PFP to build a reliable water supply for Osupukiai Village and surrounding communities.

Anthony and the team have been able to see the direct impact of their support through videos, photos and meetings with our local project manager.

“Joseph Flach gathers its products from across the globe and we are lucky to be in a position where we can share some of our success with others less fortunate. Access to clean water is not a luxury, it’s a necessity and for us to be able to help a community build sustainable, long term access to such an essential, life giving, basic thing was a gift for us. Giving is living.”

— Anthony Benton, Managing Director, Joseph Flach

Education

Over the last few years we have been developing skills exchange programmes between UK-based and African schools.

Elong’o Primary School in Osupukiai village, Kenya, has been involved in a twinning programme with St Gilbert’s School in Lincolnshire, UK. This has offered a unique opportunity for both schools to interact and learn more about one another’s lifestyles and education. Tablets were purchased and solar power installed, so that students at Elong’o are able to video call the students in the UK.

“We have been working hard to ensure all pupils in the school have greater exposure to different cultures as part of their learning across all areas of the curriculum and as part of this project, pupils and staff will be communicating with pupils and staff at Elong’o School. We will be exploring comparisons of everyday life, our curriculum, learning environments and traditions at different times of the year including Christmas.” – St Gilbert’s School, Lincolnshire

We would love to expand the PFP twinning programme, so share cultural learning between more schools in the UK, East Africa and beyond. Would your school like to be involved? Please get in touch with us to discuss opportunities.

This year we have welcomed Millie, a University of Reading student studying International Development, who is currently supporting our Arise Steering Group. Millie and other student volunteers are perfectly placed to champion our work within those settings.

Community groups

When communities come together to make change, there is rarely anything that can stop them! Whether it’s your local WI, church or rotary club, we’d love to have your support.

Please get in touch with us admin@pfp.global if your organisation, school, university or community group would like to get involved - we’d love to hear from you!

Donate

Power for the People currently collects donations through our GoodHub page. Donating through GoodHub is simple, fast and totally secure. And don’t forget registering for GiftAid makes every penny go even further.

To date you have helped us raise more than £30,000 for our projects in East Africa and beyond on this giving platform alone. This is an incredible amount that directly benefits the communities we work with. Thank you!
