At the beginning of June, thirty Community Health Promoters (CHPs) from 10 community health units gathered in Endebess for a capacity-building programme, representing another positive step in expanding community health coverage.

The training was officially opened by the Sub-County Medical Officer of Health (MOH), Dr Lasoi, who reaffirmed her support for the PFP programme and its work within the community. Also present were four Community Health Assistants (CHAs), who will continue to provide guidance and support to the CHPs as they deliver Maternal, Sexual and Reproductive Health (MSRH) services at the household level.
The second day of the programme began with an introduction to ARISE Dignity Packs, before moving into sessions on family planning, HIV and sexually transmitted infections (STIs), gender-based violence (GBV) prevention, and referral pathways. Together, these topics equipped participants with practical knowledge they can use to support the people and families they work with every day.

One of the most encouraging aspects of the training was hearing participants share their appreciation for the PFP programme's practical approach to addressing the challenges they encounter in their communities. Their enthusiasm and engagement throughout the sessions reflected a shared commitment to improving access to essential health information and services.
As these Community Health Promoters continue their work across Endebess, the knowledge and skills gained during the training will help strengthen community-based health services and support healthier communities for the future.
